Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters and water until fully dissolved into a thick syrup.
Add the large ice cube to the glass.
Pour the bourbon over the ice and stir gently for 20 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
Hold the orange peel over the glass, twist to express the oils over the surface, then place the peel on the rim as garnish.
