Traditional Turkish köfte; a delicious meatball made by kneading minced meat, onion, breadcrumbs and spices into an oval shape, then pan-fried until golden. Crispy and golden on the outside, juicy and spiced within.

Grate the onion and squeeze out the excess moisture with your hands.
Add the mince, grated onion, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped parsley, cumin, black pepper, chilli flakes and salt to a large bowl.
Knead all the ingredients thoroughly by hand for 5–7 minutes. The mixture should become uniform and no longer stick to your hands.
Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Take walnut-sized portions of the rested mixture and shape into oval köfte in your palms (approximately 5–6 cm long).
Add the vegetable oil to a large pan and heat over a medium heat.
Place the köfte in the pan and fry for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden.
Serve the köfte hot.
