Wash the jalapeños, pat dry and halve lengthways. Using a small spoon, completely remove the seeds and white membranes. Place the halves cut-side up on a chopping board.
In a bowl, stir together the cream cheese, grated cheddar, salt and garlic powder until smooth, using a spoon or handheld mixer.
Fill the jalapeño halves with the cheese mixture using a small spoon or piping bag, and lightly smooth the surface.
Prepare three shallow plates: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs and one with panko.
Coat the filled jalapeño halves one by one, first in the flour (shaking off any excess), then through the beaten egg, and finally in the panko, coating all over. Press gently so the coating adheres.
Preheat the airfryer to 180 °C conventional heat.
Place the coated poppers in the airfryer basket filling-side up, side by side (do not overlap). Bake at 180 °C for 8 minutes, carefully turning after 4 minutes. If using a smaller basket, cook in two batches of 8 halves each.
