Classic German beer-battered fish with a light batter, baked until crispy in the air fryer instead of deep-fried. The fish fillets are dipped in an airy batter made from plain flour, egg and pale lager, then baked at a high temperature until golden brown. Serve with remoulade and a lemon wedge.

Pat the fish fillets dry with kitchen paper and season with the remaining salt and pepper.
Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C (approx. 3 minutes).
Pull each piece of fish through the beer batter, allow the excess batter to drip off briefly, then place the fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overlap.
Spray the fish pieces evenly with oil.
Bake at 200 °C for 8 minutes.
Carefully flip the fish pieces, spray again with oil and bake for a further 5 minutes, until the batter is golden brown and crispy.
Serve the beer-battered fish immediately with remoulade and lemon wedges.
