In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken broth, milk, and salt to a boil.
Slowly whisk the grits into the boiling liquid. Reduce heat and cook, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes until the grits are creamy.
In the pan with the reserved bacon drippings, cook the garlic over medium heat for 1 minutes until fragrant.
